Is it possible for a sequel to be as good as the original? Of course! Some would say Terminator 2 beats T1, Empire Strikes Back may be stronger than A New Hope, and of course The Dark Knight versus Batman Begins usually ends with The Dark Knight being the undisputed winner. When I walked out of the theater after viewing Richard Linklater’s newest film Everybody Wants Some, I was at a crossroads. To get right to the point, I loved the film! The reason I was at a crossroads was because I was struggling to decide which film I liked better: Everybody Wants Some or Dazed and Confused, which was released 23 years ago. Naturally, I will compare the two films throughout the review
Captain America: Civil War is probably going to be the best Superhero film this year. I do not see any film to debut this year that will fare better than this film, either box office or critical praise. This film will no doubt thrill both general and superhero audiences with its superb action balanced with connected storylines and gut busting humor.
Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book utterly shocked me. When I originally saw they were going to launch a remake, I immediately scowled with disgust, mostly because I personally am not a remake fan. I say this because almost every time I see a remake, I prefer the original. However, The Jungle Book blew my mind!
Well the new Star Wars: Rogue One was dropped today, and my initial reaction was very intense internal screaming. Rogue One is going to be a fantastic set up to the original trilogy in ways that the other prequels never could be (Surprise George Lucas no one wanted to watch people sit and talk about the space economy for 2 hours.)
American mythology has been adapted within the inked pages of our comic books. Superheroes such as Captain America and Wonder Woman are our modern day Greek Gods. Men, women, even alien, we aspire to emulate them whether it be physically or morally. Since 1938, these legends have been ingrained into Americana and admired by the masses to the point of fanaticism.
I will start off with saying that viewing any superhero movie in a movie theater will always be an enjoyable and memorable experience, even if the movie itself is not anything to boast about. When I waited in line for the Friday afternoon showing, I was filled with anticipation. I mean, how often do we get to see a movie that showcases two of the most iconic superheroes of all time duking it out on the big screen?
Despite popular belief as of late, Netflix has more than just T.V shows for you to binge watch during holiday breaks. There is still a decent amount of movies on there to watch once you skim through all the B-grade films. So why don’t you take a break from your marathoning of House of Cards or Fuller House
The Academy Awards is believed to be the place where the best of the best Hollywood and non-Hollywood members gather to celebrate the greatest when it pertains to the movie industry. Many categories are celebrated and sometimes fans feel certain people/performers are snubbed from the nomination/award.
